The Chickens of today experience more pain and suffering than you can imagine. Up to 11 Battery Chickens can be stuffed into a 500x500cm wire cage, which means they wont be able to even stretch one wing. If one or more chickens die, the survivors have to live with dead, rotting housemates. As soon as you step into these giant battery sheds, the stench of faeces and ammonia will overwhelm you. The hens enter the cage when they are 20 weeks old, stay in there for 52, and come out either to be dumped in a large pile of rotting chickens and left to die, drowned, or sent to cheap slaughter to be made into dog or cat food, or a dodgy pie. There are over 20 million battery chickens in the uk alone.
